E-Government Bar Camp 07

The aftermath/wrap-up, new site announcement and microformats presentation links all in one.

What a blast Saturday’s BarCampWellingtonNZegov. It was enlightening, engaging and extremely fun. I was absolutely wiped when I was captured lurking in the background at the end, but the after match drinks soon cleared that up.

It was great to catch up with people I hadn’t seen in a while (go vision!), meet people I’d only known through email exchanges (like Julian), put faces to the names of the odd one or two blog I’ll lurk on, and got to meet some new fantastic people. It was scary the amount of talent that attended and hung out together for at least 9 hours.

Mike and Mark have written up fantastic round ups of the day and between them collected all the others thus far. A big thank you to those that ‘un-organised’ the event and Geoff for being a fantastic co-presenter who did all the work.

Links I’m sure I mentioned or stuck in my mind in no order

There was a lot of talk during the day about what Government 2.0 is, and how do we get there. Personally, it reaffirmed with me that we should just go out and make it happen, we’ll see what it ‘is’ when we get there. It may look something like what Googles just released for the Australian Election, it might not, the point is more about the journey that anything else.
